This environment was inspired by Alisher Mirzoev’s original and by watching the Ninety Days video tutorials from the Quixel team. Using Unreal Engine 5 as the main modelling tool, I created a house in the foreground. The castle in the distance is simple modelling and UV work with only a silhouette made in 3ds max. I also used the Fracture Mode in Unreal Engine to add damage effects to the building.
The clouds are from the basic Volumetric Cloud component with a cloud shader, made with help from Tyler Smith's tutorial, used to add appropriate modifications to the scene. To put it all together, I referred to the original artwork and used assets from Megascans and the Unreal Engine Marketplace.
What I enjoyed most while working on this piece was creating a short clip of flying crows. I felt such joy when the crows flew in line with the camera. I'd like to thank Alisher Mirzoev for allowing me to use the artwork, as well as all the artists who share their tips. I still have a lot to learn, but I will try my best to become as good as them.
