GET ON THE MOVE!
THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO ESCAPE DANGER.

In some cases, this could be your only way out. Horses can go where motor vehicles can’t (and they can also find water better than anything with wheels!).
Small, allwheel- drive SUVs are very popular-for a good reason: They’re more fuel efficient than larger vehicles and can handle tighter spaces and less-than-ideal roads and conditions. Just remember that they’re not 4X4s.

The decision to move might not be yours to make.
This year’s forest fires and hurricanes often found people being asked to leave “now”! Those without a plan in place often found themselves in a quandary and wasting precious time trying to figure out what to do and where to go.
As a hurricane is approaching your town or a forest fire is cresting the next ridge isn’t the time to try to figure out what you’re going to do. You must have a plan-or multiple plans- already in place so you’re prepared to move on very short notice.
Where are you going to go, and how are you going to get there? These are plans that must be in place long before they are needed. This section will look at modes of travel and travel preparation.
