The first authenticated 20 lb barbel has been caught from the mighty River
Thames, a 20 lb 2 oz giant to Simon Cook. Angler’s Mail cover star Simon finally got his reward after years of hard work on the venue.It beats the biggest
recorded by the Thames Anglers’ Conservancy – a 19 lb 8 oz specimen to Dave Broady last January.
