ON A chilly April evening, six of the seven people who would be Mid Argyll councillors gathered in Ardrishaig to meet and be grilled by the electors.

Tuesday’s meeting, chaired with efficiency by Rev Dr Roderick Campbell from Inveraray, proceeded at a good pace, with minimal latitude given for long-winded questions or answers.

Missing from the hustings was Scottish Green candidate Elaine Morrison, who was unable to attend, though you can read her election statement among the others on page six today.
