PRIDE IN LONDON
A night of triumphs and tears, the first Attitude Pride Awards, sponsored by Delta, took place at The Grosvenor House Hotel at Hyde Park on June 26th. The event celebrated those LGBT people on the ground working to make positive changes for themselves and others, often after suffering their own hardships. It was an incredible, emotional night with not a dry eye left in the room. The awards were hosted by Alan Cumming (right) and dedicated to the memory of a young man called Mark Houghton who died from an unintentional drugs overdose after years of bullying. His mother Mena Houghton (bottom right) accepted the first award for her efforts to raise awareness of homophobic bullying in schools. Here are the highlights from the night which we hope will happen every year.
