DONE ROME-ING: Dancer Cristian came out after moving from Italy to London.
The first time I was called gay was in primary school. My class mates in Rome, where I grew up, taunted me simply because I went to dance class. Although I didn’t really know what the word meant, I confronted them and they stopped.
But because I was the only one taking dance, I remained the main subject for gossip and my friends’ parents continued the name-calling.
