As its name suggests, a blue hue is at the heart of Christopher Ward’s new C60 Sapphire watch. The eyecatching, yet translucent sapphire crystal dial is the result of a painstaking 20step production process, which includes slicing the crystal from a pillar to achieve the right thickness; lapping (where two surfaces are rubbed together with an abrasive to achieve a glossy finish); chamfering by grinding and polishing; then applying a varnish and ensuring a perfect finish on the applied indices after a diamond cut.
