ALITALIA SUCCESSOR, Italia Trasporto Aereo (known as ITA Airways) began operations on October 15. The final Alitalia rotation – after 74 years – as Flight AZ 1586 operated by Airbus A320ceo, EI-DSV (c/n 3598), flew between Cagliari and Rome/Fiumicino the night before, while ITA’s first sortie was a domestic early morning hop between Milan/Linate and Bari as Flight ITY 1637 and operated by A320ceo, EI-IKU (c/n 1217).
