American Miniaturist Magazine Issue 252 Back Issue

Sweater weather is finally here! I used to favor the summer season but now I find that getting cozy in a big sweater on a chilly day is the best. What makes it even more fun is to stay home on a brisk Sunday and create in the studio! This is also the time of year to plant bulbs in the garden so you will have some beautiful color as winter fades. Above is a photo of me doing just that in my mom’s garden over on the West coast in Washington state. My mom has been fighting cancer for 10 years and her strength is inspiring! Be sure to make the most of the time your loved ones are around.
This issue of American Miniaturist has lots of fun fall-themed projects to enjoy. Don’t forget you can alter most tutorials to suit your needs. The pink rose tutorial can easily turn into a deep red or black rose for Halloween! The stained glass tutorial would be a great opportunity to add some color to your witch or wizard’s house windows. And a secret sliding door is a must for any spooky house.
Whatever it is you are working on at the moment, I hope you get lost in the creative process and it brings you much joy! Happy Halloween and be sure to eat way too much candy!
