MANY golfers will be aware of the somewhat tricky descent down the steps at the sixth hole at Lochgilphead Golf Club.
Over the last week or two, contractor DA McDonald has been working hard to improve this. The steps have now been replaced by a graded path with a much more gentle slope, and early reports from golfers are extremely favourable. The ladies and gents playing in their winter leagues are particularly pleased with this improvement.
As well as activity on the course, the clubhouse has also seen some improvements. Alison McColl from AMF fabrics recently assisted the committee to purchase new pelmets and blinds with a golfing theme – and with the addition of a Christmas tree and some decorations the clubhouse is now ready for the functions booked over the festive period.
