CEMETERY maintenance in Mid Argyll and north Kintyre came under fire at a council meeting earlier this week.
Councillors joined forces at Mid Argyll, Kintyre and the Islands area committee on Monday to raise concerns over the standards Argyll and Bute Council staff are working to.
Mid Argyll councillor Dougie Philand relayed complaints from members of the public that clumps of grass had been left in unkempt rows after grass cutting at Achnabreac cemetery – some-thing echoed by fellow members Sandy Taylor and Anne Horn in relation to Killevan, Crarae and Carrick near Tarbert respectively. Other complaints had been received about weeds and trees being allowed to proliferate.
