The latest beneficiaries nominated for the Co-op community fund have been announced. They are Brodick Nursery, Mary Davies Trust and Cats Protection. The fund is a communityminded initiative which donates one per cent of the sale value of Co-op own branded products to local organisations.

The Brodick Co-op, which is one of the top performing Co-ops in the country in raising cash for worthwhile organisations, last year raised more than £40,000 which was divided between the Arran Mountain Rescue Team and Feis Arainn. It was a feat which received national recognition when the Co-op regional manager Alan Campbell visited the store and presented store manager Liz McLean and former member pioneer Mark Harwood with awards.
