We have fun here at the Bass Guitar magazine command bunker, but we take our responsibilities seriously too. For example, BGM is the UK’s only print bass magazine, a situation that publications devoted to instruments such as guitars and drums don’t share. We know our job is to cover as much of the bass world as we can to the best of our abilities, which is why you’ll see in this new issue the great Larry Graham, one of the godfathers of bass guitar, rubbing shoulders with new bass players from every corner of the music world.
The same goes for our gear coverage: within the space of these 92 pages you’ll find old, new, expensive, affordable, traditional and experimental bass equipment. There’s no other way to do it, and we make a point of listening to you, the reader, as we plan the content of each month’s magazine. You wanted a wider range of abilities covered in our tuition section, for instance. Well, take a look at our redesigned columns. We’ve refined our eight columns to cover beginner, intermediate and advanced players, with each of those levels split into theory and technique.
