With the first day of summer merely round the corner, the status quo tends to be that many of us will be looking to invest in new, seasonally appropriate, pieces of clothing to add to our existing wardrobe. The increase in demand for fast fashion and discontented consumers is creating an inevitable ripple effect on our environment and the vast waste that is accumulating. According to the Waste & Resources Action Programme (wrap.org.uk), the value of unused clothing in our wardrobes, drawers, boxes, and even those tired and forgotten pieces that we indifferently stuff underneath our beds, is £30 billion.
