One Christmas in the early 60's (more excited than ever as my Gran was visiting and sleeping in my bedroom) I was determined to stay awake and see Father Christmas. Eventually I heard what I thought to be sleigh bells. Sitting up in my bed I then heard my mum's voice from somewhere near the front door (we didn't have a chimney!) telling Santa that he would have to go away and come back later, assuming I did finally go to sleep that was. It did the trick!
That memory was invoked when I saw the reindeers (albeit minus bells) on the cake I have chosen to put on the cover this month, but I am pretty sure as you take a sleigh ride through these pages many other seasonal
recollections will start to form in your mind, as we travel from traditional ideas to contemporary Christmas themed designs, calling at cute and fun during your magical journey.
Wherever in the world this festive edition stops, and whatever your religion, I do hope you enjoy a chance to celebrate, and remember that at the heart of every good celebration there is always space for a cake.
