Ditch Clipchamp for OpenShot Video Editor
What you need: Windows 10 or 11, Openshot Video Editor 3.5.0 Time required: 30 minutes
As we reported in Issue 733 (News, page 6), Microsoft now requires Clipchamp users to store their video-editing projects in OneDrive rather than on their own PCs. But the 5GB of storage included with a free OneDrive account will only store a handful of videos, and paying £20 (for 100GB of storage) or £85 (for 1TB) a year won’t appeal to everyone. You can still save previous Clipchamp projects to your PC, but you won’t be able to edit them. A better option is to switch to a free video editor that keeps everything on your computer, such as OpenShot Video Editor, which was recently updated with a new timeline, faster performance and new audio transitions.
