The world was a very different place 25 years ago when this magazine was first published. I was toddling around my auntie’s living room wearing a Sooty And Sweep waistcoat that my mum had made me. Cute, but who makes a two-year-old wear a waistcoat?
I couldn’t really tell you what it was like to exist as a member of the queer community back then, so I won’t try. I think those who lived it, who experienced it first-hand, who went through the ups and the downs, should be the ones to tell their stories. Which is why I think we need DIVA now more than ever.
