Down an unassuming side street in Park Slope, Brooklyn sits the oldest and largest lesbian archive in the world.
To the untrained eye, there’s very little to distinguish this modest building from the others lining this leafy avenue. When I visited in November last year, I was hesitant to climb the steps and ring the doorbell in case I was mistaken. Thankfully, my fears were assuaged upon seeing the small rainbow sticker on the glass, that universal symbol that indicates to queers around the world: you are welcome.
