A500 MINI
Commodore horizons
Why Retro Games Ltd believes it’s the right time to reintroduce the Amiga
After experiencing a kind of gold rush, instigated by Nintendo’s NES Mini, the hardware revival scene has changed somewhat in recent times, now that most of the popular consoles of yesteryear have been exhausted. Depending on their back catalogues, manufacturers have shifted to different approaches: Sega and Taito followed SNK’s lead in creating miniature arcade cabinets, while Nintendo revived its Game & Watch line to celebrate major game anniversaries. But for Retro Games Ltd, manufacturer of The C64 Mini and its full-size brother, the path ahead has been relatively straightforward: just as Commodore followed up the best-selling home computer of its day with the Amiga, the A500 Mini is the revival specialist’s next step.
