SPRING COLOUR MAGIC
Carol's must have primulas. At Glebe Cottage we used to grow all manner of different primroses. Many were from Barnhaven, a nursery in The Lake District that specialised in seed production of a widely varied and very
wonderful strain of primroses. All their plants were hand pollinated with pollen carried carefully from flower to flower, painstaking, cold work, too,
since it all had to be undertaken outside in March. Conditions can be brisk in Kendal in early spring!
