SUNSET MARKETS
It’s 4.30pm on Sunday at Mindil Beach, and on a sandy road beneath a bank of swaying palms, Jessica Jack and the team at RoadKill Café are preparing for the evening onslaught at Mindil’s famous sunset market. ‘This is one of the big nights of the week in Darwin,’ she says, preparing a batch of RoadKill’s trademark burgers (made from buffalo, crocodile and kangaroo meat - not actually harvested from the roadside as per the tongue-in-cheek name). ‘It’s quiet now, but in an hour we’ll be smashed, guaranteed!’
Sunset at East Point.
