Elisabeth Stevenson and Helen Ireland with the young artists.
An innovative art camp for primary school children was held over two weeks at The RockTheld Centre. Led by teachers Elisabeth Stevenson and Helen Ireland, it gave youngsters the chance to be creative using different art media and techniques – from paper to canvas and fabric. Art Camp was a pilot programme for Elisabeth and Helen as they launch Art Explorers Oban. Elisabeth explained: ‘We wanted to do something that provides active learning time for children to explore art, play with different materials and experiment. ‘We have all enjoyed it and the children have been fantastic artists, so we are looking forward to developing after school clubs and mini-holiday camps.’ Kirsty Blainey, whose children attended said: ‘This has been a brilliant project. My girls have absolutely loved it.’
