A COMBINATION of an ageing population, geographical changes and cutbacks in local authority services provided to the most vulnerable has seen demand grow for help from Lochaber Action on Disability (LAD).
And in recognition of the increasingly vital role the small charity is playing in the lives of people, the organisation last week was presented with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services at an event in Spean Bridge. Lord Lieutenant Donald Cameron of Lochiel, who was accompanied by Deputy Lord Lieutenant Jackie Wright, presented the award.
Lochaber Action on Disability is a small, local member-led charity, established in 1993.
