MCKENZIE Care is withdrawing nursing provision from Benderloch’s private Lynn of Lorne Care Home, which looks after up to 62 residents, due to a ‘national problem of nurse recruitment’.
Director of care Jackie Weston said the home would work with the Care Inspectorate and Argyll and Bute’s Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) ‘to ensure that, where possible, residents who receive specific nursing care can remain at Lynn of Lorne, should they wish to do so’.
McKenzie Care gave 13 weeks’ notice on April 30 to end its contract with the HSCP. All the residents’ families have been informed and a support meeting will be held tomorrow (Friday May 4).
