Performance BMW Magazine June/July 2021 Back Issue

In this 132-page issue we're celebrating 35 years of the M3, and we’re doing it in style. Naturally, the birthday star takes centre stage and so our cover car is a simply magnificent E30 M3 – it’s been fully restored, perfectly enhanced with a selection of subtle period additions and then taken to the next level with a supercharged built S54 swap that’s transformed it into a 585hp beast. We’ve also put together a comprehensive buying and tuning guide to the E30 M3 along with a guide to all the various special models that were produced, but that’s only scratching the surface of what we’ve crammed into this issue.
We have a feature on every single generation of M3 and there’s something for everyone. Representing the E36 we have an insane, turbocharged drift machine producing 770hp; for the E46, we have a hardcore track build; the E90 we’ve got for you is a full-on track-look road car; while the F80 you’ll be enjoying is an absolutely gorgeous Daytona violet example that’s been modded to perfection. We’ve also got a first drive of the G8x M3 and M4 both on the road and on the track and, if all that wasn’t enough, we’ve also put together a buying guide for every generation of M3. There’s also a guide to each of the awesome engines that have powered the M3 across its six generations, plus we’ve profiled almost every single special model ever produced. Consider this issue your all-in-one M3 bible.
We’ve also squeezed in a few extra feature cars for you, with a fiery 135i running hybrid turbos, an E28 M5 with a 3.8 S38 swap and a fascinating story, and a seriously slick E92 335d. We’ve also put together a suspension guide to help you decide what’s best for you when it comes to enhancing your BM’s handling.
