Back with a boom. That’s the motorhome market, if initial feedback is anything to go by. This applies particularly to sales of pre-owned vehicles, where demand appears to be highest. I contacted lots of dealers, some of whom got back to me with interesting information on how they’ve adapted to the post-lockdown phase (see p77). But all who responded said pent-up demand for motorhomes has been unleashed and there’s a bit of a sales boom. And that was a month before the working date of early July for campsites to reopen.
There’s a little downside, however. With so many making their first motorhome purchase, part-exchanges and so on, there is always a risk that stock levels will start to run low. I trust by the time you read this, the DVLA will also be back up and running properly and there’ll be no unwanted delays in getting vehicles taxed and out on the road.
