Vegan Life  |  October 2019

The year is flying by, but when things are moving at breakneck speed, it’s important to stop and take stock. This month’s interview with the brilliant Lucy Watson gave me cause to pause — when talking to Lucy about her hopes for veganism in the future, she replied, “I hope vegans will start being kinder to one another, we are in this for the same reasons and trying to ‘out vegan’ one another just isn’t productive.” Every day on social media we see vegans tearing into other vegans — emotions run high when you’re deeply passionate about something, but is this actually helpful to the cause? We are all after the same future — one where animal welfare is as important as our own — but, surely in-fighting in the vegan community is counterintuitive. We all need to think before we post, comment or reprimand, before we send that email or write the letter. Would that passion and fire be better spent elsewhere? Should we be channelling our energy into helping non-vegans make better choices, instead of attacking our own? It’s something to think about.
There are some terrible crises happening across our Earth currently, and it is a very frightening time. I really enjoyed Fat Gay Vegan’s insightful piece this month — he discusses how bringing people’s attention to veganism with environmental issues is a great start, but that we shouldn’t forget to explain about how animal exploitation is a crucial part of the conversation still. Check out his guidance on p30.

This magazine changed my life! Reviewed Wednesday, 18 September 2019
Vegan Life magazine fills me with inspiration and hope. The articles are well written and very informative. I only went vegan last January and since then have learned so much, not just about food but lifestyle, clothing, make up, cleaning products, who knew there was so many areas where animals are exploited. I love making the recipes in the magazine can can honestly say I have made almost all of them. Thank you Vegan Life Team, keep up the great work.
Fantastic mag Reviewed Tuesday, 8 January 2019 SUBSCRIBER
I love this mag especially as I believe it's the only one actually written and run by a vegan team so for me it has authenticity. The tone of the articles is spot on and the recipes easy to follow. Some very good daily advise for those jst starting out or anyone wanting to go from just a food perspective to embrace the whole culture and lifestyle.
Love it! Reviewed Thursday, 14 June 2018
By far the best vegan mag on the block. My whole family love the diversity of articles and great recipes. The magazine helped me to go vegan and stay vegan. Since subscribing we must have cooked all the recipes and read every issue cover to cover. A very inspiring read, Love it!
Best vegan magazine Reviewed Saturday, 3 June 2017
This is my favourite vegan magazine. It has a good mix of different things: interviews, articles, recipes, product reviews, etc. I find other similar magazines focus too much on just recipes but I like the balance this magazine has.
Relevant information Reviewed Friday, 3 April 2015
I love this magazine, much cheaper on the iPad than in the shop, I think all the articles are very informative and is very encouraging for those that lead a vegan lifestyle!
