This 1911 T5 Pinkerton Cabinet Joe Jackson #16 (SGC VG+ 45) is a great piece of baseball history attracted 17 bidders, and closed at double the minimum bid in REA’s Summer Auction that ran through August 18. Cabinets seem to be finding a new audience, and this one sold for $49,200.
From REA’s lot description: “T5 Pinkertons are found with two different mount styles: a thick cabinet-card mount with a surrounding embossed decorative imprint and a thin paper mount. The offered example is on the more desirable, higher-quality thick mount. This is only the second example we have ever offered of this great rarity!”
