DKM Lonato (ITA), 13/15 April Round 1 - Wackersdorf, 11/13 May Round 2
With the “sidetrip” to Lonato and with the classic Wackersdorf race, the 2018 season of the Deutsche Kart Meisterschaft has begun. For the championship that has become a point of reference on the Old Continent, as far as the nationals are concerned, the year has started in the best possible way, that is with a record of 180 contenders in Lonato, the first of the 5 races on the calendar.
A number of this scale, usually achieved by FIA or WSK international series, highlights the growing popularity of the DKM in recent seasons; a quantifiable growth in terms of participants, too. As for teams, the most important are all on the list, teams such as Ricky Flynn Motorsport and TB Racing, in addition to manufacturers who rely on importers: Birel ART Racing KSW for Birel ART, CRG Holland for CRG and KSM Schumacher for Tony Kart. As for the drivers, there is also no shortage of international “stars” such as Pedro Hiltbrand, Jorrit and Stan Pex, Nicklas Nielsen and the young Harry Thompson.
