COLUMNS
November was the month of the year’s last and final
Lately, karting relies heavily on top-notch competitions. Paradoxically, among its very participants, one feels the lack of a truly top category, which stands above the others, both technically and agonistically. Let us analyze the situation prompted by a LeCont press release.
On the occasion of the usual end-of-year awards ceremony, the catwalk for all the 2018 award winners.
As part of the FIA Karting Prize Giving 2018, the prize for the best event of the year went to the Genk circuit, as the host of the KZ World Cup, KZ2 Super Cup and Academy Trophy round 3.
The Easykart Switzerland championship started in 2015, a race series approved by the Swiss ASN, and the races are organized by Austrian DAI –Tropy (Rennkartverband Tirol) and Easykart Switzerland. The races are held in Germany, Austria and Italy.
2018 WAS THE YEAR OF CONSECRATION OF “TRAP” ON THE INTERNATIONAL MUSIC SCENE. THE WORLD’S MOST IMPORTANT CHARTS, IN FACT, ARE DOMINATED BY TRAP ARTISTS, A SUBGENRE OF HIP HOP MUSIC, DERIVING FROM SOUTHERN HIP HOP, BORN IN THE SOUTH OF THE UNITED STATES. THIS PHENOMENON HAS INFLUENCED NOT ONLY THE WAY OF DOING MUSIC, BUT ALSO THE WAY OF DRESSING, THUS WITH IMPORTANT CONSEQUENCES THE WORLD’S FASHION DESIGNERS.
VROOM AWARDS
At the end of the year’s umpteenth event, the best international drivers were set against each other, with fans voting in the Vroom Award International. The French Emilien Denner was the most voted driver of this year’s edition.
RACING
The Rok Cup season, after the International Final contest in Lonato, gives us one last showcase in Las Vegas for Rok The Rio!
The 22nd edition of SKUSA SuperNats was held in the unusual setting of Las Vegas. The numerous categories held court during the weekend of stars and stripes enriched by several night-time races.
TRACK TEST
The Rok Junior aligns itself to the Senior by adopting the same Vortex 125 GP engine, but with a throttled exhaust. On the Viterbo track we verified how one can easily pass from one to the other configuration without problems.
X-RAYS
THANKS TO THE COLLABORATION WITH DR KART, MODENA ENGINES HAS DOUBLED ITS COMMITMENT BY PRESENTING TWO VERY INTERESTING ENGINES FOR THE NEW 2019- 2021 HOMOLOGATION: THE KK2 FOR THE GEARBOX CLASSES AND THE SINGLE-SPEED ME-K AND ME-KJ FOR THE OK.
WATER TEST
The technical choices adopted for the New Line water pumps that we have tested on this occasion aim to achieve the greatest possible flow in terms of liters per minute.
PALMARES CIK-FIA
On the eve of the 2018 season, the odds or predictions did not let foresee any one team dominate, but the circus’ attention was, above all, concentrated on the new Dino Chiesa brand. With the conquest of the world title and the continental title, the eminent team manager is preparing to complicate the lives of the two brands that have divided the most important Cik Fia titles among themselves for the past twenty years. Even the geared class highlighted what was unusual uncertainty, producing results in some ways surprising, so different between the European championship and the world championship. Although the Dino Chiesa team sponsored by Nico Rosberg has displaced or upset the whole sector a bit, the Otk group has conquered the two most important titles in KZ, i.e., the KZ world championship and the KZ2 International Super Cup. CRG has had to settle, so to speak, for the KZ European Championship, together with Tm that has also emerged on top in the European KZ2.
SUPERKART
David Coulthard, the former Formula One driver, after trying a Superkart said, “One of the scariest things I’ve ever had to deal with.” Not that the Scottish driver has ever lacked for anything in his racing life: from accidents on the track to a plane crash from which he miraculously emerged alive. Yet, the experience on board these small cars capable of reaching speeds well above 200 km / h has truly remained impressed upon him.
LEGENDARY KART
The German Taifun kart was very successful at the end of the sixties and at the beginning of the seventies, so much so, that many kart manufacturers at that time were influenced by the shape of the Fritz Schöfer design hoping that their chassis, if made to resemble the Taifun, would perform in a similar manner to the successful kart constructed by Fritz and his two sons in Feldmoching near Munich.
