RACE MEMENTOES
1. “I got this Christmas pudding (family sized!) from the Matthew Walker 10K Pudding Run in November last year,” says Kelly Nicholls, 34, from Derby. “It was only my second 10K race after starting running in April 2017, 11 months after having my little girl, Nancy. I actually hate Christmas pudding, so I ran the race more for the achievement than the prize! That said, my mum had told me she wanted the pudding for her Christmas dinner, so I couldn’t not do it (although I did tell her if she wanted the pudding that badly she should run it herself!). I nearly pulled out due to shin splints but managed to get myself round and crossed the line in 1hr 06secs with a smile that lasted for days. I love the photo of Nancy and I with my pudding as, if it wasn’t for her, I’d never have started attending buggy fit classes and got the running bug!”
