It’s funny to hear people ask me how I got into running because I still don’t really believe I’m a runner. But I am – clearly! I’m 40 soon and just before my 30th birthday I decided I wanted to start running. It was always something I’d seen other people do and was quite envious of but never done myself. A friend I worked with was getting married the following year and wanted to get fit so we did it together.
We signed up for a 10K and trained together and I was amazed at how quickly you can go from not being able to run at all to running. And then, in fairly short order, managing a 10K. We soon signed up for a half marathon and did that too!
