After the publication of his first book, People Die, Kevin Wignall became a full-time writer.
Other novels have been shortlisted for the Edgar Award and the Barry Award and Hunter’s Prayer was made into a film directed by Jonathan Mostow and starring Sam Worthington and Odeya Rush. ‘I spend a long time thinking about books, during which my day isn’t structured at all,’ says Kevin. ‘I often don’t make notes at this stage, except for tiny details I might forget otherwise. So it’s all falling into place in my head without other people really being aware that I’m working at all. When they start to notice that I’m looking distracted, it’s because the book is consuming me and it’s around then that I start to write.
