MY WEEK IN CARS
If you get a scratch here, don’t fear: just call Mickey
MONDAY
For once, our 2019 Mini Cooper S has been in the limelight. Although it’s by far the most used member of our family fleet (30,000 miles in two years), it’s so easy to drive that we take it too much for granted. Even the big fun factors contributed by its pokey engine, quick steering and taut chassis are banked, as it were.
This realisation set me reflecting on the pros and cons of ubiquity in cars. It’s great to own a good and popular one, but maybe it’s time for Mini to have a more radical rethink than the careful one that we already know is coming…
