MY WEEK IN CARS
Mon Dieu! Two French disappointments in one week
MONDAY
My London roost, where I stay several days a week, is buried inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone, within sight of the congestion charge zone and surrounded (choked, you might say) by 20mph limits. So surely the perfect car for short-haul journeys would be the extremely compact, all-electric, ultra-cheap Citroën Ami?
Thinking this, I borrowed one and looked forward to finding out. Previous Ami forays had been accompanied by distractions such as negotiating other cars in Stellantis’s Coventry car park and doing flat-out (29mph) circuits of the Eiffel Tower for the camera. But the sheer funk of this car (or quadricycle, officially) and my love of other crazy Citroëns set a high bar.
