The Blitz, a 116-page 85th anniversary special publication by the team behind Britain at War magazine, tells the story of the Blitz in 1940 and 1941.
It was a period in which the people of Britain demonstrated the resolve of which Churchill spoke so movingly: “The lights went out and the bombs came down. But every man, woman and child in the country had no thought of quitting the struggle.”
Hitler’s objective to bomb Britain into surrender would prove a major failure, although it would leave widespread destruction and the loss of countless human lives.
