PROUD TO BE DIFFERENT
Meet some of the people happily kicking the age stereotypes into touch
Kimmy Anderson, 33, from New Baltimore, Michigan, US ‘When I started playing pickleball, I noticed right away it drew a mixed crowd. On one court you might see a 21-year-old, a 35-year-old mom and a 68-year-old retiree. I’ve found myself standing across from a 65-year-old guy with a knee brace on, thinking: “Well, this will be a piece of cake!” and in five minutes I’m congratulating this senior citizen, feeling defeated and completely dumbfounded. It’s a silly and fun game, but it has a way of redefining what it means to be an athlete. Two years on, I have this eclectic pickleball family and we are all so different. I even met my fiancé playing pickleball.’ See f2sports.com
