A wellness sabbatical needn’t break the bank or involve a year away from home. Here’s how to make 72 hours really work for you and reap the benefits for months to come
It began trending late in 2019 and looked as though it would take 2020 by storm, but then certain events kicked in and the wellness sabbatical didn’t quite have the impact some experts had predicted. It also gave others time to reflect on the practicality and affordability of taking weeks, months or even a year out on a costly programme of treatments and downtime. That said, evidence does suggest that people who take time off tend to live longer and are happier, in both their personal and work lives.
A more manageable way to re-evaluate your lifestyle, especially in these uncertain times, might be to incorporate a three-day, home-based wellness sabbatical once every three months, or even annually, allowing you to stop, take check and focus on your needs.
