A letter to… me
The next time you want to set intentions or write down your thoughts, why not seal your words inside a stamped, self-addressed envelope and head to the postbox?
You may already be familiar with the power of the pen – the belief that putting words onto paper can help crystallise your thoughts or supercharge your intentions. Perhaps you journal or like to make lists and tick things off as you go through your day. But have you ever thought about taking this a step further by setting time aside to write a letter to yourself, perhaps outlining some resolutions or intentions for the future, laying out positive affirmations or even just giving yourself some words of comfort, a pep talk or a love note?
A way to begin such a letter might be with ‘Dear future me’ or ‘To the universe’, and to end it, simply sign off as yourself. But then there’s an additional step you could take to truly seal the deal – pop your letter into an envelope, address it to yourself, stick on a stamp and walk to the nearest letterbox. A few days later… you got mail! Your letter to yourself will arrive in the post, to be read anew with fresh eyes and an open heart – or set aside to look at on a future date. Committing the extra time and energy to physically posting your letter is an additional investment in your words and their meaning.
