Certified rooftop solar PV installations were recorded in the UK during the first three months of 2025, according to data from the Microgeneration Certification Scheme. This is the highest volume of first-quarter installs since 2012, with over one-third of systems being placed on new builds. The government is expected to announce that solar panels will be required on all new build home from 2027, as part of its revisions to the upcoming Future Homes Standard.
