RED ALERT
BORN IN A BRITISH ARMY CAMP IN GERMANY, NEIL JONES GREW UP PLAYING LOTS OF SPORT. BUT FROM AN EARLY AGE, AND DESPITE WARNINGS THAT HE WOULDN’T EVER MAKE IT, ALL HE EVER WANTED TO DO WAS DANCE…

You recently finished the Strictly live tour — I believe it was your first — what was that like?
It was an unbelievable experience. We had plenty of fun with the whole crew and cast. One of my favourite moments was when I was recording my view point of Ed [Balls] in Gangnam Style and he was wearing my Snapchat glasses. I loved playing pranks on other cast members backstage as well. It was really hard work to perform 30 shows in three weeks so, naturally, I picked up little injuries along the way — that’s normal in the life of a dancer. During one of my performances I was dancing on a small drum, which I did every show, but this time the drum slipped from under my feet and I fell down hard. However, the show must go on so I tried my best to style it out. It was funny and painful at the same time. Overall, the Strictly tour was a moment in my life I will never forget. I was lucky enough to perform in some breathtaking arenas to 10,000 screaming fans. What could be better?
