It was June 1998, B*Witched had just released the gamechanging ‘C’est La Vie’, and I had decided that Saturday would finally be the night I would go into the Gay Village in Manchester for the very first time. I was 17 and I’d been asked to house-sit for my sister while she went away — it was the perfect opportunity to go out and avoid all questions about where I was going.
