Natural light & warmth
The south-facing elevation hosts a sun room/conservatory area with an internal balcony positioned above. These are eye-catching and efficient eco features. “The heat coming through the glazing is absorbed by the two concrete block piers and the brick wall, which acts as a massive storage heater”, says Joe. “We can close the doors on the balcony to shut warmth out in the summer. But if we open them and the rooflights in the landing, heat rises up and drifts up and out.”
