Robert Smith is working on brand new material for The Cure. The singer has been busy listening to music while organising his Meltdown Festival in London, which in turn got his creative juices flowing. “I’ve listened to more new music in the last six months than I ever have,” he told BBC 6 Music. “I’ve suddenly fallen in love with the idea of writing new songs.”
To get fans in the mood, they issue The Cure Mixed Up and Mixed Up Extras Deluxe Edition on 15 June. The collections feature 16 new mixes plus 11 rarities from the band’s golden period between 1982-1990.
