AN OBAN man has been fined £500 for an ‘unprovoked attack’ on his girlfriend’s former partner while he was parked waiting for a train.
Steven Hughes, 22, of 4A Sinclair Drive, admitted assaulting the man at Oban’s Railway Pier by punching him on the head to his injury.
Procurator fiscal Eoin McGinty related the facts of March 19, when the complainer was sitting in a car in the station car park. ‘I believe there was bad blood between them,’ Mr McGinty told Oban Sheriff Court on October 12. ‘[Hughes’s] girlfriend went across to speak to the complainer.’
