TRANSOCEAN, the company that owns the oil rig that grounded at Dalmore in the Western isles, is to give the local community £120,000 in recognition of residents’ patience and hospitality.
The money will be split between Dalmore and Carloway and an island-wide fund to help Western Isles young people take part in sporting events on the mainland.
