ANY potential plans to upgrade the A82 in Fort William could be delayed until winter next year due to lengthy traffic congestion surveys.
Transport Scotland announced that updates to its ‘traffic modelling’ of Fort William will not be completed until spring 2018, thwarting any plans to work on the road before next summer.
A spokesperson for Transport Scotland said: ‘Transport Scotland have commissioned traffic counts with a view to updating our existing “summer” traffic model. This work will inform a review of existing traffic issues and consideration of potential small-scale options which could improve the safe and efficient operation of the trunk road network through Fort William.
