BEAR Scotland, the organisation responsible for managing and maintaining trunk roads, will be looking into why there was no prior warning that a ‘heavy load’ would be travelling through Fort William last week.
The convoy filed through Fort William during the midday rush.

A vehicle carrying a ‘dumper truck’ passed through Fort William under police escort around lunch time on November 17. Drivers and residents described the scene as ‘chaos’ as traffic built up around the convoy, with some comment ing on Facebook that traffic lights had to be removed to allow the vehicle to pass.
