Ta-da! It’s been months in the making but fi nally our beautiful, re-shaped
Psychologies is here. With new sections, a new look and new experts, we hope
to give you a women’s magazine like no other. We don’t care what age you are,
what you look like (though we know looking great makes you feel great), and we
really don’t care what handbag you buy – what matters to us is what you think
and how you feel. People often ask me who the Psychologies reader is and it’s a
joy to reply that you won’t be put into any box that I can fi nd. All I’ll say is that
you’re the most interesting and interested women in the room.
So I hope we’ll be able to give you a magazine that interests you. We promise
to be honest. We won’t do fake. We’ll create a space where you can communicate
about what’s going on without fear of being judged. We promise to celebrate the
courage to try something di erent – the process, not just results. We promise
to embrace nuance, not black and white thinking. We promise to acknowledge
that life can be di cult and there isn’t one right answer and sometimes all
you can do is accept the ‘what is’. We will create a breathing space for you to
explore how to fl ourish in your life, no matter what challenges you face. We’ll
encourage you to experiment with new ways of thinking and living (see our
new experiments on pages 73, 76 and 81) so you can create a life that nourishes
rather than drains you (see our special report on change on page 83).
We’ll also be engaging you in lively conversation. Don’t forget to join us on
Facebook and Twitter, where more than 100,000 of you are busy talking. Read
our 20-page Dossier, with conversations that have changed lives (on page 42),
or how to have those di cult conversations you’ve been avoiding (on page 38).
Plus, explore how to change the most important conversation of your life – the
one you have with yourself.
