Noisy freight operator protest in Berlin
TWENTY locos from private German freight companies operated a special protest train on September 28 through the centre of Berlin operating as one huge light engine movement.
The deliberately noisy demonstration near the German Parliament witnessed the locomotives using their horns continuously, protesting the fact that while German state-owned operator DB AG has received billions of Euros in coronavirusrelated additional funding the private sector (which represents half the German freight market) has received nothing.
Speeches
The event was organised by Netzwerks Europäischer Eisenbahnen (Network of European Railways).
The train stopped in Berlin Hbf station for 15 minutes while speeches were delivered calling on the Government to change policy.
